Introduces Additional Watersports Facilities

As
part of the ongoing effort to promote tourism, the Andhra
Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), has
taken the initiative of further introducing 38 boats
in the state by the year-end.
These boats would include six 50 seaters, six 30 seaters,
15 six seaters, four Shikara boats and seven speed boats.
Of them, 16 boats will be introduced in the city, seven
in Vijayawada, three in Rajahmundry and the rest in
Srisailam, Warangal and East Godavari.
H Hanumantha Rao, APTDC officer on special duty, mentioned
that, Based on the response the number of boats
would be increased further by the end of January 2002.
In all 13 boats will be introduced at Lumbini Park,
which would include 20 seaters, 18 seaters and four
seaters. About five boats at Hussain Sagar and Durgam
Cheruvu and two at Nagarjuna Sagar and Miralam Tank
will also be introduced.
Further, at Nagarjuna Sagar, besides the four launches
Vijayalakshmi, Krishna, Agastya and Zaria, two semi
air-conditioned versions each costing Rs one crore will
be introduced by the end of January next year.
