Heena T&T to focus on Kumbh Mela, Char Dham tours

Mumbai-based Heena Tours & Travels, which specialises in leisure group and honeymoon tours concentrating on the Gujarati and Marwari communities, is working to enhance its pilgrim tour offerings. Jitendra Shah, chairman of Heena Group of Travel Companies, informs, "We started Jain and Hindu pilgrim tours on public demand and for this year we have booked a special train for a target of 2,000 passengers for the Jain pilgrimage to begin from September onwards. This target is nearly achieved. For the next year we will be focussing on Kumbh Mela and Char Dham tours as well."

In terms of business, the company witnessed a significant dip in inbound owing to the slowdown and the swine flu scare, especially in the NRI segment. "People are waiting and watching, though they have booked their tickets they are yet to book their tours," he said.

On the domestic front, however, the drop has been close to 20 per cent but with a strong clientele, word-of-mouth and good supplier relationship, the company believes it will see a turnaround.
